Filters we used, and why
- Mainly indica: indica-leaning genetics. Indica, sativa: the high.
- Effect sleepy: as the breeder or a shop describes it. We don't use relaxed here: nearly every seed carries it, so it barely narrows the list. Effect.
How we chose this list
No label promises how cannabis will make you feel. But two things on a seed's page each point in the direction of a calm, heavy evening high, and together they narrow the list.
| Filter | What it says | How far to trust it |
|---|---|---|
| Mainly indica | The plant leans to the indica side of its genetics | A long tradition, a first hint |
| Effect sleepy | The breeder or a shop describes the high as sleepy | Their description of their best result |
Why not "relaxed"?
Almost every seed is described as relaxing. On buxbeans, most seed products carry the relaxed tag, so filtering on it barely changes the list. Sleepy is rarer and says more. If you want a wider choice, try relaxed and high THC.
Indica, sativa and the high
Growers have long linked indica-leaning plants with a body-first, heavy high and sativa-leaning plants with a lighter, active one. It's a useful first hint, not a rule: most seeds today are hybrids, and the label says more about how the plant grows. Indica, sativa: the high.
Indica plants in your grow
Indica-leaning plants have practical benefits too:
| Trait | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Compact, bushy shape | Fits a tent or a hidden outdoor spot |
| Shorter flowering time | Earlier harvest, before the autumn rain outdoors |
| Dense buds | A heavy harvest, but more care against mould |
| Broad leaves | Easy to tell apart at a glance |
If you grow outdoors in a short summer, combine this with fast-flowering seeds.
What decides the effect you get
The genetics set a direction. The rest is up to your grow and you.
- Harvest moment: many growers harvest a little later, when more of the trichomes have turned amber, for a heavier high.
- Drying and curing: slow and careful keeps the plant's character.
- THC: more THC makes a stronger high. Choosing by THC.
- You: tolerance, mood and setting.
Sleepy isn't the same for everyone
A tag describes what the breeder or a shop says most people feel. Some people get sleepy on almost any cannabis; others stay alert on a strain known for couch-lock. Your tolerance, how much you use and when you use it change the effect as much as the plant does. Start low with a new harvest and learn how it works for you.
Narrowing it down
- Feminized or regular: feminized if you want every plant to flower.
- Autoflower or photoperiod: for your space and season. Autoflower or photoperiod.
- Taste: earthy, sweet, skunk: indica-leaning seeds cover them all. Taste.
- Price per seed: compare shops and pack sizes. Price per seed.
Prefer a clear head? The opposite direction is an uplifting, creative high.
Make it yours
- Relaxed and high THC: a stronger, wider choice.
- The opposite direction: an uplifting, creative high.
Good to know
An effect tag is the breeder's hope, not a promise. What influences the effect.
