An uplifting, creative high.
Looking for an uplifting, creative high rather than a heavy stone? We combined three filters: mainly sativa genetics, low or average THC, and effect tags like uplifted and creative. Together they point you in that direction. How you grow, cure and use your weed decides the rest.

Filters we used, and why
- Mainly sativa: sativa-leaning genetics are known for a lighter, more active high. Indica, sativa: the high.
- THC low or average: under 25%. Less THC means less chance of an overwhelming high. Choosing by THC.
- Effect uplifted, creative, energetic or focused: any of these words, as the breeder or a shop describes the high. Effect.
How we pointed this list at an uplifting high
No single label promises how cannabis will feel. But three things on a seed's page each nudge the odds in one direction, and together they point toward a clearer, more active high.
| Filter | What it says | How far to trust it |
|---|---|---|
| Mainly sativa | The plant leans to the sativa side of its genetics | A tradition more than a rule |
| THC low or average | Under 25% as stated, or no figure | Lower THC means a lighter high for most people |
| Effect tags | The breeder or a shop describes the high as uplifted, creative, energetic or focused | The breeder's description of its best result |
Sativa, indica and the high
Growers have long linked sativa-leaning strains with a cerebral, energetic high and indica-leaning strains with a heavier, body-first stone. The pattern holds often enough to be useful as a first hint, but not always. Most seeds today are hybrids, and the label says more about how the plant grows than about how it feels. Indica, sativa: the high.
What sativa-leaning plants mean for your grow
Sativa-leaning plants tend to grow taller and flower longer. Before you choose, check two things on a seed's page:
- Height: a tall plant needs headroom in a tent. Height brackets.
- Flowering time: a long one may not finish outdoors in a short northern summer. Grow specs.
Why THC matters for the kind of high
THC is the main reason cannabis gets you high, and a lot of it in one go is the main reason a high turns heavy or anxious. A seed with average THC isn't weak; it gives you more room to find your own dose. That's why this page leaves out the high bracket. Choosing by THC.
Average THC on buxbeans also holds seeds with no stated figure: we place those in the middle rather than drop them. So check a seed's page if the exact figure matters to you.
Effect tags: a direction
Breeders and shops describe effects in their own words: "euphoric", "cerebral", "motivating". We map those words onto a few plain tags so you can compare seeds. This page includes four of them.
- Uplifted: a lifted, positive mood.
- Creative: ideas flow more easily.
- Energetic: active rather than sleepy.
- Focused: clear-headed.
A seed only needs one of them to be on this list.
The rest is up to you
The genetics set a direction. What you end up with depends on how you grow, when you harvest and how you cure it, and on you: tolerance, mood and setting. Harvesting a little earlier, when most of the plant's hairs have turned colour but before they all have, is something many growers do for a brighter high. What influences the effect.
Make it yours
- Add hybrids, keep only creative.
- Drop the THC filter: stronger seeds too.
- The opposite direction: indica seeds for a calm evening.
Good to know
Average THC also holds seeds with no stated THC. An effect tag is the breeder's hope, not a promise: your grow, your cure and how you consume it decide the effect. What influences the effect.
